Chrissy Teigen: Who Is She?
Chrissy Teigen began modeling when she was a teenager, and in 2010 she was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit issue. She rose to prominence as the host of the reality show Model Employee before landing her dream job as a color commentator on the long-running Lip Sync Battle. Teigen has two children with her husband, John Legend, and is a popular personality on Twitter with over 12 million followers.
Early Life and Modeling Career
Christine Diane Teigen was born on November 30, 1985, in Delta, Utah, and spent the majority of her youth in Seattle, Washington. Teigen’s mother is of Thai descent, while her American father is of Norwegian descent.
Teigen never imagined herself as a model. “I always wanted to be a teacher or do something with food,” she told The Daily Beast. But modeling, I’ve never thought I’d be able to do it on my own.” Despite her reservations, she was found while working at a surf shop in California when she was 18 years old.
Teigen broke through in her profession in 2010 when she was named “Rookie of the Year” in Sports Illustrated’s famed swimsuit issue. She graced the covers of Cosmopolitan, Glamour, and Italian Vogue in 2014, alongside models Nina Agdal and Lily Aldridge.
Cravings’ and Social Media Star
Teigen took a different path in 2011, starting her own blog, So Delushious, to showcase her recipes and thoughts. She told Marie Claire, “I’ve always enjoyed eating and I guess I needed an outlet.” “I didn’t want to spend all of my time talking about modeling and being in the modeling world.”
Teigen expanded on this concept in 2016 with the best-selling Cravings: Recipes for All of the Food You Want to Eat. She published Cravings: Hungry for More two years later and introduced the Cravings cookware brand through Target.
Teigen became a social media power with her frank and hilarious messages, amassing more than 12 million Twitter followers by 2020. However, after a critic referred to the Cravings site as a “content farm,” she said she was taking a hiatus from social media in the spring of that year.John Legend is a Grammy and Academy Award-winning singer-songwriter whose albums include “Get Lifted” and “Love in the Future.”

She and host LL Cool J are in charge of this competition, which comprises two celebrities pretending to sing in order to win over the crowd.
Teigen made her daytime television debut in the same year as one of the hosts of FabLife. Tyra Banks produced the syndicated discussion program, which also featured Joe Zee, Lauren Makk, and Leah Ashley, as well as Teigen as the group’s cuisine expert. FabLife only lasted one season due to low ratings and Banks’ early exit.
Teigen, along with Jeff Foxworthy, Kenan Thompson, and host Amanda Seales, returned to television in the summer of 2019 as a judge on the comedy competition series Bring the Funny. In Quibi’s Chrissy’s Court the next spring, she took on a different kind of judging function, portraying a Judge Judy-style mediator of petty arguments.
